Consulting Engineers Group (CEG) is a power systems engineering firm located in Lakeville, MN. CEG works nationwide on substation, wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects.

Position Benefits & Location:

  • The base pay for this position is: $20 per hour

    • MN sick time is included in this position.

  • This position is onsite at our office in Lakeville, MN. Our office address is 21875 Grenada Ave, Lakeville MN 55044.

  • Job posting is for Fall 2026 or Spring 2026. Exact start and end dates are flexible.

Qualifications:

  • Currently attending classes for drafting degrees (any discipline), AutoCAD preferred.

  • At least 1 year completed towards a degree. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.

  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Interest in the transition to a fully renewable energy grid and the technologies involved to make this happen.

Learning Opportunities:

Note that exact opportunities may vary each year depending on project needs.

Drafting & Design

  • Use AutoCAD to support project design and documentation.

  • Assist with drawing production and updates.

  • Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Standards

  • Review and clean up existing CAD standards.

  • Remove outdated blocks and tools.

  • Develop new resources to improve drafting efficiency.

Real world experience

  • Work in a fast-paced consulting engineering environment.

  • Visit substations to observe field conditions.
