Senior SCADA Engineer
Location: Lakeville, Minnesota (Remote/Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary & Benefits: Salary of $135,000 to $160,000 annually. Insurance benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life. Additional benefits include a 401(k) Plan with company contributions, paid time off, and profit sharing.

Position Overview:
CEG is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior SCADA Engineer working with Automation and Integration of Plant SCADA and PPC systems into Renewable Power Generation Plants. The Senior SCADA Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, installing, and testing automation systems that bring together multiple sub-systems to meet the operational and regulatory needs of the owner. The Senior SCADA Engineer will be able to develop and implement logic for complex custom applications. The Senior SCADA Engineer will oversee less experienced staff, provide mentorship to the Junior SCADA Engineers, Interns, and report to a Team Lead or the Director in the department.
What You’ll Do:
Provide mentorship and review for SCADA point lists, remote terminal unit (RTU) programs, human-machineinterfaces (HMIs), meter and relay settings, and general calculations
Program, install, troubleshoot, test, and commission Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), Programmable AutomationControllers (PACs), & Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for renewable and power utility clients
Develop complete design packages for site network and communication architectures compliant with client andregulatory requirements
Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers and team members
Establish and maintain project schedules and provide regular, timely progress reports and status updates
Take ownership of QA/QC, including reviewing the work of others on the team and providing mentorship whereneeded
Foster and maintain positive client relationships, be responsive both internally and externally - very frequentclient interaction
Complete projects in the allotted time and provide input on task timelines to help develop project schedule
Support strategic company and department initiatives
Travel to client sites and offices occasionally required, up to 25% of time
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience designing and leading Renewable SCADA projects
Robust knowledge of various SCADA concepts, such as but not limited to: Networking (VLANs, routing tables,firewall rules, etc.), PPCs (PID controllers, inverter communications and control, IEC 61131-3), ProjectManagement (ability to lead a Plant SCADA and PPC project), HMIs (what data is important/relevant to theoperators, design concepts), Troubleshooting (ability to chase down a problem, given minimal information, and propose a solution), Systems and Server Administration (ability to commission a server upon startup for a project, perform replacements or hot swaps), etc.
In depth knowledge of industry standard protocols like DNP3, Modbus, OPC UA, etc.
Deep understanding of industrial automation and secure network design
Excellent leadership, mentorship, and communication skills
Data Concentrator experience: SEL-RTAC, Novatech OrionLX+, and others as needed – ability to create complex files and implement custom logic
HMI configuration experience, preferably Ignition
Networking and Device configuration experience, including knowledge of the following manufacturers: SEL, Hirschmann, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Dell, and Cisco
Ability to successfully use troubleshooting tools, such as Putty, Wireshark, and others as needed

Systems and Server experience
Ignition Gold certification
Experience with NetSuite ERP
